Chroma 3 Case Description

The Chroma 3 Case is a visually stunning CS:GO (now CS2) weapon case that was released on April 27, 2016, as part of the "Trichromacy" update. This case contains 17 unique Community-designed weapon skins, continuing the Chroma series' tradition of introducing incredibly vibrant, detailed, and colorful artworks to the game.

As a special rare item, the Chroma 3 Case drops the original five knife types: the Karambit, M9 Bayonet, Bayonet, Flip Knife, and Gut Knife. Just like its predecessors, this case features these legendary blades exclusively in the highly coveted Chroma finishes, giving players the chance to unbox premium and expensive patterns like Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Rust Coat, and Ultraviolet.

Chroma 3 Case History

The Chroma 3 Case was added to the game on April 27, 2016, and immediately grabbed the community's attention by expanding some of the most famous skin collections in Counter-Strike history. It is historically significant for introducing the P250 | Asiimov, allowing players to finally add the legendary sci-fi design to their pistol loadout at an affordable price.

The case also debuted two incredibly unique Covert skins. The M4A1-S | Chantico's Fire brought an explosion of vibrant red and yellow colors with intricate traditional patterns, famously featuring a hidden smiley face on the stock. Meanwhile, the PP-Bizon | Judgement of Anubis made history by becoming the very first Covert rarity skin for the PP-Bizon, featuring a breathtaking ancient Egyptian design. It also brought the fierce and highly popular UMP-45 | Primal Saber.

Origin

The Chroma 3 Case originated from the April 27, 2016 "Trichromacy" update. It serves as the exclusive container for The Chroma 3 Collection skins.

The case features 17 community-created skins categorized into four standard rarities: 7 Mil-Spec, 5 Restricted, 3 Classified, and 2 Covert. The highly coveted Covert tier is occupied by the M4A1-S | Chantico's Fire and the PP-Bizon | Judgement of Anubis. Alongside these vibrant firearm skins, its rare special item pool features the highly desirable Chroma knife finishes, making it a premium target for players chasing a Doppler "Gem" pattern like a Ruby or Sapphire.

Community Feedback on Chroma 3 Case

The release of the Chroma 3 Case was met with massive excitement from the Counter-Strike community. The arrival of the P250 | Asiimov was a major highlight, as fans of the futuristic aesthetic rushed to complete their loadouts. The M4A1-S | Chantico's Fire was also highly praised for its aggressive and exceptionally bright color palette, which stood out beautifully in-game.

Today, the Chroma 3 Case is considered a classic and remains a heavily respected container in the CS2 economy. Now sitting in the rare drop pool, its value has steadily climbed. The community loves this case because it offers a phenomenal mix of nostalgic, highly playable weapon skins and the incredibly thrilling chance of pulling top-tier original knives in legendary Chroma finishes.
